The USPS is apparently going to roll out a new stamp type for first class stamps; I've seen them called "tape stamps":

They're backless, and will work like a roll of tape.
Funny thing is that, though the USPS website (and specifically the store) shows them (that's where the picture's from), I can't find them anywhere on the site. My local post offices have no information on them -- they didn't know a new stamp type was in the works.
Funny thing is that all of them have the roll dispenser (shown in the picture) in their products window for a buck or something. No stamps, just the dispenser.
Anyone seen these? Or has marketing gotten ahead of engineering?
