Interestingly, I've been wearing a tie to work (by my choice) once a week as an experiment.
I encourage others to try it. I think it boosts my self confidence and professionalism. Dress like a professional, act like a professional. Dress like you give a sh*t.
Also I find that people listen to me better when I dress nicer. A better wardrobe is a subtle visual cue that requests respect.
Just my opinion. I do like being comfortable, but respect feels pretty comfortable too.
