My boy, also 3, said something similar to me. There was a food drive for one of the local food bank and a radio DJ was camped out on top of a semi trailer as a PR stunt to draw attention to the food drive. My son asked why he was up there and I explained that some people don't have enough food for their family so we give them food. We happened to be next to a grocery store so he dragged me into the store and he picked out several cans of soup and some mac-n-cheese to donate.
