Does that Paint with Primer work?
#6
Do the primer, something like Kilz Premium and get good quality paint. Our handyman has spent more
time than I care to think about at our home over the last couple years and this new Paint & Primer is
crap. We have a Den that still feels like it was painted 2 or 3 days ago even though it was painted last Fall.
He used Kilz Primer and then 2 coats of Valspar paint & primer combo that we picked out at Lowe's and
it's still tacky feeling. He just finished our bathroom and again he primed with Kilz Premium water base
primer and this time we bought Benjamin Moore paint from Ace at about $65/gallon made specifically for bathrooms
and it's dried fine and looks great. No more cheap paint for us. We also tried Olympic from Lowe's that
was paint only on some trim and it also will not cure out correctly. The old Valspar that Lowe's had without
the primer in it was pretty good paint. The new stuff is BS, you'll likely need 3 coats if just use the paint &
primer combo and good luck getting it to dry.
