A lot has changed in 20 years.

Yes, a lot has changed, like the base V6 Accord is a half second faster 0-60 than Honda's "premiere performance coupe", the Civic Si. The Civic Si is 'one fast pig' that has gotten too fat. Honda started dominating the hot hatch market with the 86 Si, and the 89 Si locked it up for three years. Then they started getting bigger, bigger, and bigger, and then they added even more airbags, and because it gained so much weight, they had to reinforce it more to pass the new standards, so it gained more weight. It is almost two full sizes larger and 1000 lbs more than it used to be. Honda did give it enough power that it is a little faster than the 89 Si, but several other manufacturers have passed it up.
