My wife and I purchased two iPhone 5's 64gb back in the day along with AppleCare ($1,300). Last year in August there was a battery recall that we had done at our local authorized Apple dealer.
Right after that the warranty expired and my wife's phone started acting up. I was able to do a hard boot and reload the software on but finally it just keeps cycling off and on (Apple logo shows and it flashed and shows again).
I can power down and plug in to the Mac and try to upload the software again but it fails at the very end with an 4005 error.
Our local authorized Apple dealer would not touch it without money and offered the usual $269 for a refurb.
Tried with the Apple Store too and they pretty much said the same thing.
So is there anything I am missing to get this iPhone to work again?
Or is it going to be a nice expensive brick paperweight.
TIA
Matthew
