It is interesting, I was there couple weeks ago and had some long discussions, some worry a lot, especially the smaller countries like Latvia, Estonia and the Czechs.
Poles and Hungarians view it differently, they see an opportunity.
Slovaks and Byelorussians have a greater cultural affinity towards Russia so they are more ambivalent. So are the Southern Europeans.

Romania, although I have contacts there dating back to Caucescu days, is the only country in Central Europe I did not deal with on this trip....
