Yes, standard 3.5mm, the downside to using your own is that you'll usually end up with an extra 2-5 feet of cable dangling around, pulling on the bluetooth module.
If I remember right, the SBH50 earphones come with 3 sets of different sized earplastics, you should be able to find a fit. I personally wrap the cable up and around my ear, never have trouble with them popping out. I used to have the predecessor to the SBH50, the MW600, which used a similar design. The earphone rubber was so snug that I would sometimes pull the headphone out and the rubber would stick in my ear. That was a bit scary the first time it happened. The SBH50 has a bit more grip between the earphone drivers and the rubbers.
