Sounds familiar. When I moved into my house in 1992, it took two weeks for Time Warner cable to check to see if I could get cable at my house - despite all my neighbors having it. Then when they ran the line, the installers decided it needed to be buried and they would schedule it. Three months later we were still waiting.. We had to lift the line up to mow the yard.
Well eventually we accidentally ran over the line and called for a repair. TWC came out and laid the line again - across the yard. It took two more months of weekly calls to finally get the cable buried.
