My buddy went the opposite route and replaced his wood burning stoves with pellet stoves.
Pellets are readily available and we got tired cutting, storing, and aging wood.
They are space heaters but they put out so much heat that in many situations that can heat a large portion of a home.
He has two to keep the heat low and limit the output to just a couple of rooms per stove.
Cleaning isn't too bad if you do it regularly. And you might want to invest in a stove vacuum rather than a tiny shovel and pail.
