A few days ago I asked for a recommendation for a restaurant in Phoenix. I wanted to buy a gift card to give to a friend who had helped me out. The response seemed to lean in the direction of just giving him a pre-paid credit card and let him decide what he wanted to do with it.
That makes sense. Just spoke with my credit-card company. I can't purchase a pre-paid credit card through my company. (It almost worked by using points, but a card purchased with points has to be to a specific merchant.)
So, any suggestions on how to buy a pre-paid gift card for $100? I assume I'll go online and use my credit card to buy another credit card. Is one company better than another?
As an aside, also found out I have a lot more points built up. I'll have to figure out what to do with them. This sounds like some research that won't be painful.
