Fan operation, iMac
#1
Bought a 480 GB SSD and had it professionally installed in an iMac 10,1 Thursday. The technician did not install OWC's temperature sensor on the HD. He said there was too little room for the sensor. Instead he used the original temp sensor.

Machine works well, and faster than before.

But the fan now runs continuously. The fan hardly ever ran with the original, rotating HD. It doesn't sound like jets leaving O'Hare, but the novice suspects something is out of kilter.

Could the problem be related to the temp sensor?

Opinions, please…
