If you have been getting by with a 2008 imac until now, you clearly are not in need of power - else you would have done something about it a long time ago. You probably aren't wealthy either, else you would have updated your imac out of boredom if nothing else by now.
The conventional 2013 imac will completely knock your socks off. You will be stunned by the enhanced beauty and raw speed compared with the 2008 imac.
The only reason to get the best of the best is if you earn money by the work you do on the imac and are currently spending a lot of time (aka money) waiting for your imac to finish tasks. Or you're bored and wealthy...
The 2012 imac will also be a knockout compared to your imac.
