"Extremely bizarre. I am a pilot, I have flown A320s in the past and all the A320s I have flown had an override code that allowed members of crew to gain access to the cockpit using the keypad at the door. Unless the pilot(s) disable the keypad from inside the cockpit [in case of hijacking/hostages etc] and completely isolate the cockpit.

Never flew Lufthansa so it's theoretically possible their setup is different, but I doubt it."
