Check the thread again. I'm not the one who suggested one should buy a $350 Apple Watch to avoid taking out my phone. I was commenting on the price of such a suggestion already in play.

Even so, getting my wallet out and then dropping it on the ground doesn't cost me hundreds of dollars in repair costs because I just had to purchase $2.00 overpriced candy bar.

Either way, these payment systems are great options, but the buy in cost is stupidly expensive for Apple Pay. Much less so for Google Wallet, but it isn't exactly free either. My actual credit card is provided free of charge and I have to have such an account to link it to Apple Pay anyway.
