New iMac 2012 continued multiple questions

I did a force quit and the new gmail account seemed fine. Both sent and received.

Then I decided to go delete the same pop gmail account and somehow deleted both pop and IMAP so starting all over again.

I also enable iCloud and not sure if I should have done that...
