I have decided that I dislike Nikon SLR cameras
#1
I switched to Nikon after a bad run of Canon cameras that had faulty and unreliable autofocus. I own 5 Nikon DSLR cameras. As much as I tried to embrace Nikon, after roughly 8 years of full Nikon I have decided I just don't like it. Are Nikons great tools? Yes, Can I accomplish what I need to and keep clients happy? Yes. I just don't like the way the cameras operate. The Canon layout, the feel of the buttons, the shape of the grips just feels better. I feel like Nikon is like using a PC and Canon is using a Mac. On a Canon I shoot with intuition and feel, with Nikon I constantly feel that I am fumbling with the buttons. The Nikon skin tones are never flattering to portrait clients so it takes work to get them right on the computer. At times, the tones are too honest and accurate.

There, I had to get it off my chest.

That all being said, I am in too deep into Nikon to leave now. Unless their cameras start a bad run of terrible AF units, I won't be switching any time soon. The only Nikon I love is the F4 film camera. It is darn near perfect in my hands.
