I wish there was a way to specify to which device you want to send iMessages.

I like iMessage when it works, since I know a message has been delivered, and sometimes I even know my dear wife saw it and is typing back.

but sometimes it drives me nuts. I want to send an iMessage to my wife, and if the macBook at home is ON, it shows as delivered, when in fact she might be in a location where she does not have good cell signal. I have no idea if she saw the message or not. I tried to make a new contact, with her phone number only, but then iCloud has her iCloud account linked to her cell phone, and even if I want to send the iMessage to her cell (not iCloud account), it still shows as Delivered.

Sometimes I use Viber instead, but then she does not always keep that App open.

When she was abroad and her a new cell number which was NOT linked to her iCloud, things seems a little less confusing. Maybe I should try to decouple our cell phones from our iCloud account, but I also like the convenience of sitting at the computer and receiving iMessage sent to my iPhone on my Mac Mini.

I wish there was a way to specify to which device you want to send iMessages.
