Is it just me, or is iTunes 12's Playlists a clusterf*ck?

I just go to Playlists view and then simply use drag-and-drop to edit playlists.

That's what I've always done. Just needed to figure out which switches to "flip" to get back to that point.

I still don't understand why I cannot make a "playlist" for apps. And I still don't understand how Apple thinks it's a good thing that my computer can sync to my devices but my devices can't sync to my computer. That's about ass backwards.

The app selection and arrangement mechanism has always been clunky at best.

Transfers are in a half-assed state because App Thinning has forced the compromise.

Apple can either fix it by making iTunes App Thinning compatible, or just remove local app syncs altogether. Given their track record and philosophy with regard to software features with newer versions (i.e.-dumbed down), I'd bet on the latter.

iTunes is really the worst kind of app you can have. What began as a simple, functional foundation that has had too many functions added to it, acts as a UI experimentation lab, and serves mostly to frustrate the minority who use it.

The users who they're designing the app for now aren't even likely to use it, as they've happily bought into iCloud and never connect their devices to their computers.

Those who understand it (or what it used to be), are being forced fed changes that mostly serve to hinder, infuriate, and go unnoticed by the intended audience.

But the RDF protection it enjoys is either very strong, or people have just given up and resigned themselves to it.
