This isn't a lot of information to go on, but in general:
You could try a device that splits the HDMI signal into HDMI video and breaks out the audio into toslink/optical. There are lots of options for these. How well they play with the HDMI "handshake" though...
Presumably your TV has HDMI input. Does it have an optical audio output? Then you could route the HDMI through the TV first and use the TV's audio output (not all TV's will output a 5.1 audio signal thought, a lot of them will only output stereo).
