Do you have a stand for a Cable Box or other devices that connect to the TV?
The wall my TV is on backs up to a closet on the other side. I put everything in there (cable box, AV amp, WDTV, 8TB media server, and UPS to protect it all) using a Logitech RF hub remote to run it through the walls. The front speakers are Onsia panels that are builtin, rears are in ceiling Polks, with a Polk center speaker on a shelf above the TV, and a 10" Polk sub on the floor (wires drop down to a RCA jack box in the wall. All I needed was a outlet size hole hidden behind the TV to run it's cables through (since it is hidden, I didn't bother with a wall box, but there are options if you want one).
So everything is completely hidden from sight and can be run by the remote.
One thing I discovered was the heat buildup from the components was not good. I put USB driven laptop coolers between the amp and cable box that plug into the UPS
