Space, i think i remember that you queried the forum when you replaced this tub spout w/ diverter??..mebbe not

It's your diverter most likely..if it was a basic hardware store spout or big box store deal..they do this as they wear..they loosen up pretty quickly because they aren't the greatest quality..im not sure why you installed but this is common with these kinds of parts

As the warm water causes parts to expand a bit it can go away as the parts seat themselves more snugly..biggly...as the diverter wears more it can become worse etc...

The parts are loosening up

This sound can appear to travel via vibration and what not..

If it's not the diverter then you have some troubleshooting ahead..

but i think it is
