Calling MRF Plumbers: I need help solving the Navier–Stokes equations for my shower

I hear it every now and then in older, modest hotels. Really pisses me off as just opening or closing the valve a bit FREQUENTLY makes it go away.

There is always some jackass nearby at 3am with his/her shower just howling away.
