If you want TimeMachine to do something that TimeMachine doesn't do, then you shouldn't be using TimeMachine, you should be using something like Carbon Copy Cloner instead of, or in conjunction with, TimeMachine.

TimeMachine works best when you let it work the way it was designed to work - plug it in, turn it on, and leave it the frack alone.
