UK: Parliament votes in favor of fantasy

What's the acronym? PIIGS? (Portugal, Ireland, Italy, Greece, Spain). ALL BROKE (or nearly so), why would THEY leave a "union" that's carrying their debt? I'm more surprised that the countries that are more fiscally prudent would agree to carry the deadbeats. Once GB "escapes" let's see how long it takes for other "givers" to follow GB's example (especially since fewer member countries will have to pay more to take up the slack).

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he can eat everyday.

Give a man (or country) a dollar and they'll come back for more (again and again and again....).

WWII debt went LARGELY unpaid. If I recall correctly, ONLY Finland repaid their war debt. Everybody else decided it was best to ignore their debt, hate the United States, and bite the hand that fed them. When will we learn that "bought" friendships last only as long as the money flows? If foreigners are going to hate us, we should STOP paying them TO hate us.

I really have no idea what you're trying to say here. As near as i can tell this is a diatribe based n a misunderstanding of money as it relates to governments.
