The homeless woman was also sentenced to those same five years for selling crack cocaine to an undercover cop during her kid’s birthday party so don’t shed too many tears for her.
No, not the ‘same five years’, that is incorrect. Separate case, charge and sentences.
”Police investigated McDowell and charged her with fraud. A year later she pleaded guilty to first-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny; for these offenses, she received a five-year sentence. Before McDowell started serving it out, she was charged with selling narcotics to an undercover police officer, an offense that killed her community support. McDowell was ultimately given 12 years, to be suspended after she served five, and followed by five years of probation; the narcotic sentence to run concurrently with a five-year sentence she had already received in the Norwalk school case.”
Don’t shed too many tears for her?
A woman living in poverty; out of her vehicle at one point. Still had the constitutional wherewithal to maintain some sense of concern for her child and his future, trying to get him even a decent basic education so maybe he’d escape the cycle she hasn’t been able to pull out of. Yeah, she’s made ignorant choices in trying to survive. I bet with some guidance and, say, $275,000, she’d have a damn good shot at turning her life around. But save your tears.
$275,000. That’s what Huffman is paid to make one episode of her show.
On the other hand we have, a woman coming from a family worth tens of millions of dollars, who still feels so entitled that she throws thousands of dollars at cheating to get her already privileged daughter bumped ahead in the line over other kids.
