Wiper Blades for 2011 Honda Element

I buy cheap wiper blades, Anco, Acme, whatever.

After a season or to, prior to the rainy season (which we don't really have around here) I'll scrub the windshield really well, and run a little sanding block with 600grit sand paper along the edge a few times to dress it.

I try to avoid using them 'just because' the windshield is a little dirty. I'll wipe the window down with some glass plus from time to time to keep from dragging the blades across dirty and grime that have eased themselves onto the windshield.

This allows my blades to be useful a very long time.
