2FA, the way Apple implemented it, used to a pain. for some reason I did NOT have to sign out and back in to my account in several months, so I do not know if they improved it. Now that I think about it, I just upgraded my iPhone, restored from the old iPhone (scanned the moving cloud) and I think I had to enter my password, but I do not recalled getting any 2FA codes.
