I don't put alkaline batteries into remotes anymore. They leak too much.
I use lithium batteries for remotes.
I use Li rechargeables too, because - well - they're rechargeable.
The copper tops were garbage years ago - decades ago.
They leaked like a sieve, and I switched back to Eveready Alkaline batteries.
They'e never leaked. Not once, in my years of using them.
It's not surprising that Kirkland batteries leak. It seems to me they're rebadged Duracells which Costco hawks.
