Jupiter is so close right now that it's easy to see 4 of it's largest moons if you're clear of the clouds and have some binoculars. The comet won't be back for almost 7,000 years, so there's probably half a chance it won't ever be seen by humans again. It, too, is very clearly visible with a decent set of binoculars, and even without, you'll see the smudge in the sky for the comet.
