Last year my Magic Mouse began having trouble moving the cursor:

I finally bought a new one, and that's been working fine—until recently. Now it too is not tracking properly. Finger-tip scrolling works fine, but the cursor is not obeying.
I've been using the Mouse on a traditional cloth mouse pad, as my old table top is kinda ragged and rough. When it doesn't respond properly I blow on the opening, and that helps for a bit, but then stops following. It actually works better on the table alone, for a while. Is there a surface these devices like better? I've tried paper, and file folders, and they don't work. A shot of compressed air settles it down, but not for long.
Reminds me of the old ball-type mouses (mice?); you had to take out the ball and clean it. Can I open up the Magic Mouse?
