This thread is not complete without mentioning Mosrite guitars.
Semie Moseley's idea* to trace a LH Strat as a right handed guitar & then
'German carve' the top was his one finger salute to Rickenbacker from
where he had been fired. Moseley had apprenticed @ Rick under German
luthier Roger Rossmeisl, a former Gibson employee who, in 1962 was
hired away from Rick by Leo Fender. Within 10 years he retired and
returned to Germany.
*Many believe Rossmeisl actually designed the classic
Mosrite Model I (aka "Ventures Model").
