I did a lot of work on my 750-4's carb when I modified the airbox and exhaust, resulting in some very lean plug readings.
Instead of restoring the air intake and exhaust, and not wanting holes in pistons, I elected to tune the carbs to give a proper throttle response and good plug readings.
Pulling and reinstalling the carbs was the most difficult part, sure.
But after a few of those evolutions, it became tedious.
Raise four needles, buy new high speed jets, adjust idle jets, replace idle jets, make spaces for needles because whole increments of moving the circlips wasn't enough or was excessive.
I now have a bike with FI, and I'll be fine with that.
