While courts have never ruled, it is pretty evident that it could not apply to the presidency. The constitution sets not only the qualifications but disqualifications for the office. It is the only office that is addressed in such a fashion. A person could be convicted of treason and still be elected POTUS.

Unfortunately, the founding fathers framers of the constitution never factored in voter stupidity.
