So it looks like there was a mess of twigs close to one of the sensors that I somehow missed
We swept the whole area from sensor to sensor and everything seems to be working again for now, thanks for all the input, there was a lot of helpful information for normal maintenance to be performing
Incidentally, when we got our new spring installed (it actually was a bit over 2 years ago, not 1 year like I had thought above), the installer told us to apply 3 in 1 garage door lube to the spring(s) and wheels once a month, so we've been doing that
