Use a lightweight oil, not some form of grease or you’ll have problems in the winter. But the wheels really don’t need anything, metal on metal in this application is just fine.
I use white lithium grease on mine. Perfect for this application.
Where do you apply the lubricant? To me it seems that the roller bearings make more sense than the outside of the roller and track.
I do the track and where the wheel hub goes into the metal bracket on the door.
