We have a home office upstairs and I need to run a network cable around (under) the baseboard to another computer on the opposite wall. Running under carpet is more of an undertaking than I want to get in to.
My wife is very concerned with not being able to see it so I figured I could just run it under where the baseboard meets the carpet, but realized the standard thickness CAT 5 I have is next to impossible to do it successfully, and I also tried the flat/wide type with no success.
I then saw somewhere "slim" CAT 6 cable that looks to be the size of a standard phone cord. Anyone have any experience with this using it the way I intend? Or does anyone have a tip for using standard CAT 5 successfully. I don't especially need CAT 6 speed.
It is a less than 5 year old house so drilling into anything would definately not fly with the wife.
