can i set-up airport express w/airtunes but w/o the airport express assistant software?

local craigslist has an airport express but w/o any sotware disc, namely the airport express assistant.

according to the apple site i need airport express assistant to set-up the airport express w/airtunes

i'm running 10.4.7 but maybe this is the time for me to finally get to 10.4.9
