No one answered "Why should I signal, I always turn there."?
When I lived in Raleigh the local giveaway ran a contest for a city motto. One of my favorite entries; "Come to Raleigh, give your turn signals a rest."
During a brief stay in St. Louis, I noticed that the drivers there were almost as bad as North Carolinians about refusing to use turn signals. When I ask a colleague about this, he explained that you needed working turn signals to pass vehicle inspection and using them too often would make them burn out faster. I would have guessed that he was putting me on, except that he had no sense of humor.
