PRON (or anyone else who knows): what's the successor to the rebel XT, and when is it coming out?

thanks, pRON for the info. and advice. I don't really *need* a camera for anything--just for fun! So I can afford to wait a bit longer if that's what it'll take to get the next generation of cameras. The 20D is an attractive option as well, although that may be getting just a bit outside of the pricerange that I'd like to stick with for now (given that this is only just a hobby cam!).

We'll see, though. It'll probably just come down to whatever deal I see first-whether it's an XT kit in the $700 range, or something else comparable. Like I said, I don't need anything right now, so if I don't get anything for 6 months, there's really no loss in my book.
