you can't (or shouldn't) go wrong either way. the softer the wood, especially for floors, the more advantage a Waterlox (resin) type tung oil has. oak can be pretty hard, and if the floors aren't going to be abused you could probably get by w/ either. the pure stuff is fabulous to work with (at least it used to be up till a dozen, or so, years ago when my woodworking capabilities deteriorated to no longer be viable hands on) as it provides almost infinite application and finishing options. high traffic bodes in favor of Waterlox. stay away from urethane if any stain is involved, or if you evr plan on refinishing the floors at a later date. good luck, enjoy, and stay dust-free...
