Nikon D50. Really awesome camera.
One bit of advice...be prepared to get hooked. dSLR's are the way to go. Since buying my D50, I've shot at least several thousand pictures...this is since 12/05.
Really really addicting...very engrossing...lots to learn...and very visual. I now understand why people get hooked into photography.
