USPS - tape stamps (backless self-stick stamps)
#8
Inaccurate advertising seems to be getting worse. Not so long ago I was on a trip over very salty roads. I found a carwash that advertised "undercarriage wash" on the signs at the gas pump. So I bought a carwash. I Went to the carwash and when I drove up I realized there was nothing setup to do such a wash. I tried to get my money back, no luck. I asked why the sign advertised that if they didn't have it and they said "well, the signs come form California. maybe the carwashes there have them."

I have bought software that states it comes with something free. When I try to get it, they tell me that promotion is over even though no where on the box does it provide an expiration date.

I had one client who basically put a coupon code in their emails which said "use this to get 50% off all future purchases." Well, they really only meant off of your next purchase. I tried to get them to change it but they wouldn't. They are a former client now.

In this case it's just a matter of the packaging being old... it used to be companies would recall their product and issue it with new packaging if this happened. Or they would at least supply stickers (or something) to the reseller to make sure the advertising on the packaging was still accurate.
