Oregon has a ton of creatives in it. The job market is tighter than tight. I have been searching for a decent job for over 3 years, freelancing in the meantime.
This is better than decent. Probably the best job offer I have ever seen. I could go so far as to say a career versus just a job. Plus it is not drivin by results or undue pressure. Since it is internal for the company, there is none of that agency BS. That is something that I am looking forward to.
Basically the job entails creative for 15 - 20 major tradeshows a year. But they happen at the same time every year so the schedule is set. No real surprises. Plenty of time to get things done. The only major obstacles in the design is the government. The specs change at the last minute and sometimes the product gets delayed due to military red tape.
I know those issues well. A very very good friend of ours works for Skyline here in Seattle, and I am a photographer for a defense contractor.
Once again, good luck. And with the Intel macs dual platform, why should they really care at this point.
