what if you have a blackberry/treo/pocket pc type phone and just use internet IM'ing instead??? I can see where the $40-$50 flat rate for data service could be cheaper than 15¢ a pop each way for texting; that's basically 5 round trip texts a day... we have a niece that does that every hour she's awake, don't know what her current carrier is though.
