Need cheap SCSI card for G5 PCI
#6
If you can find one used, Apple/ATTO OEM SCSI cards based on the UL3D are supposed to be usable in the G5. Price runs about $80-90 when they show up. Otherwise, ATTO does have some UL3D's left in stock that they are selling for $184. Current model UL4S will run you $350. That said, some people have reported issues running a narrow SCSI device on a wide SCSI host adapter in OS X. I don't know if that would be a problem in your case.

You may have better luck finding a Ratoc Firewire to SCSI adapter. USB to SCSI adapters also exist, but date from a time when they were all USB 1. So you probably would not see any improvement.

P.S. How did you get the Adaptec 2930 and 2906 cards to fit? They are 5 V PCI cards, the slots in your G5 should be 3.3 V PCI-X that only take PCI-X or 3.3 V PCI cards.
