Do you think a fine is fair for wearing buds...WHILE WALKING?
#5
The ban is for only crossing the street. In thirty years of running I have never used a earphone device because I am afraid of traffic. Here in San Jose on N.st. with heavy commute traffic I admire bicyclists because the bike lanes do not cover the route very much. The ones who wear earbuds I shake my head. This is vicious traffic. Crossing the street as a pedestrian is no picnic either. Stepping off the curb with traffic with a green finds right turners pretty determined. Some cars think they can continue on without stopping even while the light changes. You cannot see the turners.
