15% sounds so much better than saying I went from 32 mpg to 37 mpg.
For the past week or so (since the last fillup), I decided to run the experiment of never driving over 70 - whenever possible (traffic permitting), I set the cruise control around 67-70. My commute is about half highway, half city driving. Doing some quick math, this adds maybe a minute to my commute. I don't even notice the difference.
So - that one change - going from driving like everyone else on the freeway (~75 mph) to driving around 67-70 mph saved me close to $6 in a week and a half. That works out to $16/month - enough to pay the cable bill and buy a celebratory (cheap) lunch.
