An inx file exported from CS3 will probably not open in CS1, as ka jowct said.
I have InDesign CS3, CS2 and CS installed here in my home studio for just this
possible scenario.
They are indeed cheap bastiges and possibly -- arrr! -- Pirates, as CS was the last
version of InDesign that could be installed and used without activating over the
internet. CS is therefore still very popular with many designers I know.
