Just got this email from one of my booking agencies.
We're getting reports from artists on the road that gas supplies are varying greatly from city to city. Recent hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico have interrupted the two petroleum pipelines that feed the southeastern United States.
Specifically, we've heard that supplies are shortest in Alabama, Georgia, and North Carolina.
If you have travel dates within the next few weeks please be aware of this situation and plan accordingly. We recommend the following:
> Try to manage your purchases in order to keep your tank 75% full at all times - This gives you the extra breathing room you might need while traveling through a dry area.
> Try to make your purchases in less-populated areas - Metropolitan areas are reporting outages while less heavily trafficked and rural areas are not.
As always - please be safe out there and plan ahead to be sure you get through this gas shortage without incident.
